Community Banking Systems History
Community Banking Systems (CBS) was founded in Dallas, TX in 1999 as Bankimage.com. CBS was established to provide community financial institutions browser-based technology solutions and services.
The company name was changed in early 2005 to Community Banking Systems to better reflect the client base CBS serves and the software products CBS develops and supports.
CBS has a always embraced integrating the image services offered by the Federal Reserve Bank. In December of 2004, an eastern Iowa client bank of CBS was one of the first banks in the nation to transmit Fed Forward cashletters to the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank in the X.9 image file format.
CBS is partnering with Bankers' Bank, Madison, WI developing the software that drives Bankers' Bank's image exchange service known as OWN.IT.
