Additional Check21 Resources
At Goldleaf Financial Solutions, we are excited about the future of check processing -- so much so, that we began preparing for Check21 long before Chairman Greenspan sent the "Check Clearing for the 21st Century" legislative proposal to Capitol Hill in December 2001. To that end, we have created the following modules and services to meet the developing needs of Check21.
Check Image Import
The net.check Check21 module includes importing of check image data into the GFS check imaging system from a variety of sources and in a variety of image file formats.
Check Image Cashletter Creation
The net.check Check 21 module includes the ability to create check image cashletters in a variety of proprietary and open (X.9 and COF, for example) file formats for easy image exchange.
Substitute Check Creation
Substitute Checks can be printed as a single item on demand, automatically printed in batches, during check capture, or any combination of the three. Multiple printers can be utilized for high volume check processing centers. Substitute check printing is an important component to business interruption planning.
Substitute Check to Image for Image Statements
The GFS Check Image Statement Utility extracts the original check image from the Substitute Check image and resizes it for statement printing and eStatement applications. Resizing provides a consistent "look and feel" of in-house vs. imported images when printed on a statement, to the end user.
Image Quality Assurance
The Check21 Image Quality Assurance (IQA) feature monitors and flags check images that may not meet minimum image exchange thresholds. Financial institutions must be confident that the images transmitted are of the highest image quality possible. IQA translates to reduced numbers of re-credits typically caused by poor images sent through the electronic check clearing process.
Advanced Sort Pattern Logic
It is imperative that a bank's check processing solution have flexibility, built-in from the start, to meet the new and developing opportunities of Check21. The Federal Reserve periodically updates the list of all banks currently participating in check image exchange. Maintaining the ability to import this listing into the check imaging system is only a single, small example of the flexibility needed for Check21. You can rest assured that the GFS' Check21 Sort Pattern Logic module is ready for all challenges and opportunities created by Check21.
